St0rm.net is giving away a prize. The prize is yet undetermined but will have value no less than $50 USD

All you have to do is play in any of our TeamFortress 2 or Minecraft servers for a total of 40 combined hours (20 in TF2 & 20 in MC, or 40 in TF2 & 0 in MC, etc...) during the month of April to be entered to win. You may be entered more than once. For every 40 hours you spend in one of these games, you will receive an entry.

If we get 30 unique entries, Wilo will record himself being pied in the face. While singing a song. And post it on youtube. Done.

The best part? These games are free to play! (Disclaimer: Our Minecraft server is free, but the game client isn't necessarily free; TF2 is free to obtain.) There's no reason not to play our games, have fun, and even be entered to win a prize!

    Further rules:
    • Standard AFK rules will be enforced.
    • You may be entered a maximum of 5 times.
    • A winner will be drawn May 1st, 2012 at an unspecified time.
    • Winner will be drawn using a random result from a random sample generated by random.org - a true random number generator.
    • A single IP address will be considered a single entity, subject to all the above rules.
    • Multiple connections from one IP address will be counted only once.
    • All rules are subject to change.

Over the past month we held two polls:

One to determine the date of the final Renegade match.

One to determine the time of the final Renegade match.

So with that information in mind, I hope to see you all in the renegade server on
    Saturday, March 24, 4:00 P.M. EST - 10:00 P.M. EST (21:00 GMT - 3:00 GMT)
You can drop in and out anytime during this period, but lets aim for as early as possible to get this thing full! The scripts 4.0 requirement has been relaxed for this event. This will be your last chance to play st0rm.

Information on how to join the server can be found at the following link: Renegade DC Tutorial

Oh, and play St0rm: TF2, Minecraft, League of Legends (join us on TS) and more to come!

    Hello St0rm Community,
it has been a while since my introduction post on 09-26-2011, I had a lot of fun with being the St0rms Public Relations Manager.
It was always something I was proud of and it was always fun.
Unfortunately things have changed, friends left together with the last Renegade Events and so on.
Sadly this took away the motivation and spirit to be on this Position any longer.

This brings me to my point here, I'm stepping down from my Public Relations Manager Position and give another Person the chance to Represent St0rm in all its glory.
An Era has ended, for me.

I hope that you will enjoy St0rm.net and our Gameservers in the future.
    Farewell, Friends.

St0rm.net has had a presence in Renegade since 2003, and it has been a crazy ride. Renegade built this community from a crazy server crashing yet lovable Jew we know as Wilost0rm, to a community across many games with a
forum 17,000 registered members strong. In spite of our branching out, the influence Renegade has on this community is evident in IRC channel and forum post count alone.

This is why it is with regret that I announce St0rm Renegade will be officially shutting down. Permanently.

While this decision was influenced in no small part due to the recent XWIS ban on our hostnames, that is not the
only motivation behind this decision. We've finally reached the point where we can no longer deny the inevitably approaching demise of this once great game.
Renegade uses roughly 35% of our dedicated windows host CPU and introduces vulnerabilities. It creates drama throughout the now small communities which brings St0rm grief. We've reached a point where we no longer feel the cost is worth the benefit. Furthermore, it behooves us to "quit while we are ahead" in this current situation.

All St0rm scripts, including St0rmServ, will be made public once the server shuts down.

We want St0rm Renegade to be remembered in at its prime, and that is why we would like the entire St0rm community to join us for one last massive war.
A war to be remembered. Please, vote (in the poll above) on which day you would like us to organize this game, and prepare your client to direct connect to the server, bypassing the ban. This will be the last game, and will be remembered.

Let us emphasize, this is in no way the end of St0rm, but only its Renegade division. All of its members are strongly encouraged to join us in Team Fortress 2, Minecraft, World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and Guild Wars 2.
Once St0rm Renegade shuts down, we will be announcing our plans to take St0rm to the next level, involving major overhauls of many facets including our website.
We hope you will see this as we do: not an end but a beginning. Finally, we will move on from Renegade and enter the gaming world as a whole.

    Remember to vote here!

    Hello to you all.

As you may have noticed over the past week, St0rm has suffered due to the actions of our Founder.

Wilo admitted to attacking other servers, eventually knocking them offline for long periods of time, over a period of a couple of months.
As a consequence of this, the Xwis admins, as well as other Renegade Community Leaders, have come to the decision to ban the St0rm.Net servers from Xwis.
We have been given several options on how to resolve this, as the entire community is suffering for one persons actions.

I had a meeting with the co-founder, head of personnel and the Renegade administrators today, and we have discussed a potential option for us.

We have a petition which is live, and will be up until Midnight, April the 1st.

Between now and then, St0rm will be banned from Xwis. This means players can only join our servers through GSA or a 3rd party program such as RenList.

The idea behind this petition is to get enough signatures from everyone here who enjoys St0rm.Net as a community as a whole. When April the 1st comes, we will show this petition to the Xwis admins, who will then decide whether or not to unban St0rm.Net from Xwis. If we get enough signatures from people, the odds of St0rm.Net being unbanned from Xwis may just be a little higher.

Unfortunately, however, at the end of it all, the Xwis admins have the final say in this matter.

    ------------------------

If they decide to unban St0rm's servers from XWIS, then Renegade will continue with success in our network.

If they decide not to unban St0rm's servers from XWIS, then we will gracefully shut down our Renegade servers, for good.

    ------------------------

Please note that if such events happen, where the servers are NOT unbanned, St0rm.Net will STILL be fully functional in all other games we host and support.

This petition could make or break the St0rm.Net renegade servers, so every single signature counts.
So PLEASE, on behalf of all the staff and loyal members here at St0rm.Net, please sign this petition.

    Many thanks to you all,

    applst0rm.

    Hi guys and girls!

Now that Team Fortress 2 is starting to make a name for itself around other TF2 communities, and more and more players are returning to our servers on a regular basis, I would like to organise a St0rm TF2 Event Weekend.

For this to happen, I'd like to get our community members involved. Not just TF2 players, but anyone across the St0rm network who feels they have something useful to contribute. What I'm looking for is adeas for event "themes". Any plugins that you are aware of that can be added to the server for an event. Any events you've played in other servers and have enjoyerd, and would like to see at St0rm. Literally ANYTHING you feel is of use.

Any of our TF2 players who play in other communities, once the event is organised, I'd like to see you spreading the word amongst your friends! I would be looking for the weekend 31st March - 1st April. Many may say that's a long time away, but there's no point organising an event with 3 days notice and expecting the servers to be full! lol

If I can secure funding, I would also like to offer some kind of reward scheme in the form of Steam gift, available to event winners. Again, ideas are welcome!

So come on people! Let's get this sh*t organised! lol

    Good evening everyone.

So...for those of you who are interested in Guild Wars 2, and have been following it, the Beta Press Weekend has just passed...which allowed several selected people from the press play the game for the weekend, record it, and share the videos with us.

Looking at the very few videos which I have seen, I literally cannot wait for this game.

Along with Diablo 3, this is probably THE most anticipated game for me to be released this year, EVER.
I played Guild Wars quite a lot 'back in the day' and really enjoyed it (although the 'instancing' (i.e lack of open world) was a little annoying), so naturally, i'm excited for this.

Personally, I think this will be a huge blow to WoW. So much seems to be different about this. The developers have really put a lot into it, and from the Beta Weekend videos, you can see this.

Anyway, enough of my rambling. Check out the video below for a glimpse into what the game is like, and keep checking on their channel for more videos.

*Note - I can only put 1 video on this thread for some dumbass reason, however this is only part 1...there is more.

    Thanks for reading!

    Much love,
